Our Story
Ringstmeyer Land & Livestock, LLC is a fourth-generation cattle operation based near Winner, South Dakota, in the heart of Tripp County ranch country — land homesteaded by Frederick and Anna Ringstmeyer and recognized today as a South Dakota Century Farm.
Phillip Ringstmeyer's grandfather, Harold Ringstmeyer, and father, William Ringstmeyer, both operated the ranch before him. Phillip runs the operation today alongside his father as the two of them work through the transition from William to Phillip. He and his wife, Kendra, live in Pierre with their daughters, Kali, Dani, and Kori, while Phillip continues the family's work on the ranch.
The registered herd got its start to raise hybrid bulls, primarily Angus and Simmental influence, building on the Angus- and Simmental-influenced commercial cattle William raised for many years. Every breeding decision starts with the female: we look for a cow that can raise a quality calf, rebreed, and keep doing both for as many years as possible, because she's the backbone of any herd, commercial or registered.
That same emphasis on soundness and longevity carries through to the beef we raise. We see ourselves as stewards toward a consistent, quality end product, and we believe beef is a strong basis for a healthy diet through all that a consistent, nutrient-dense product can provide.
